There are ten thousand guides to planning a wedding. There are almost none to becoming married.

You have a venue, a budget spreadsheet, and a seating chart. What you probably don't have is a structured way to find out whether you and your partner actually agree about money, children, in-laws, sex, health, or whose career bends first — before those questions get answered by default.

This is that structure. Twelve conversations, sequenced the way a clinician would sequence them, with the private reflection pages, discussion scripts, and written agreements to work through each one.

What makes this different

Most premarital printables are a list of questions in a nice font. This is a workbook with a method behind it.

  • Written by a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC), and sequenced accordingly — attachment before conflict, conflict before money, money before children.
  • Secular and inclusive by design. No faith requirement, no assumed gender roles, no assumptions about your family structure or marital history.
  • Safety-screened. It opens with a page on coercive control and the difference between a disagreement and a relationship where disclosure isn't safe. Almost nothing in this category does this, and it matters.
  • It has a real teaching layer. Every module explains why — including the physiology of why a twenty-minute break works and a five-minute one doesn't, and why "responsive desire" resolves an argument thousands of couples are having unnecessarily.
  • Worked examples in every module. You'll see a vague agreement next to a specific one, and exactly why only one of them survives contact with a real marriage.

The twelve conversations

  1. Attachment and family of origin
  2. Conflict, repair, and flooding
  3. Money
  4. Intimacy, desire, and consent
  5. Health, mental health, and disclosure
  6. Household labor and the mental load
  7. Career, ambition, and geography
  8. Children — or not
  9. Family, in-laws, and the couple boundary
  10. Faith, culture, and tradition
  11. Privacy, digital life, and the legal file
  12. The wedding itself

Plus a chapter most workbooks leave out entirely: what to actually do if you find a material incompatibility. Not a checkbox — four pages on how to tell a difference from a problem from a dealbreaker, how to handle the sunk-cost trap of non-refundable deposits, and how to find a couples therapist who is trained in something.

How it works

Pass one: each of you completes your own pages, privately, in writing. Nobody sees unfinished answers. Pass two: you compare themes in a structured 45–75 minute conversation, using the scripts provided. Then: you write down what you actually decided, in specifics — and sign it.

It closes with a First-Year Contract and a review dashboard at 30, 90, 180, and 365 days, because an agreement nobody revisits is just a document you once signed.

Please read before buying

This is structured psychoeducation. It is not psychotherapy, psychiatric evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, legal advice, or financial advice, and buying it does not create a clinician–patient relationship. It will not score your compatibility or predict whether your marriage will last — no instrument can do that honestly. What it will do is surface information you don't currently have, in an order designed to make that information usable rather than explosive.

This is a digital download. No physical product ships, and instant downloads are non-returnable.
